Pepys’ Favourite Riverside Walk

Heartfelt thanks to Ed S for such an enjoyable and interesting walk. 14 set out in horrible rain which finished about lunchtime. We sheltered in 2 churches and had excellent tour of the Brunel Museum. After lunch the weather improved, with a beautiful winter afternoon. To hear trains rattling through the first under-river tunnel in the world and see the reputed site of Christopher Marlowe's murder added to the treat. Thank you Ed..

This is a walk along the Thames Path (South) from Tower Bridge to Greenwich highlighting some of the places Pepys enjoyed visiting and including a visit to the Brunel’s 1842 Engine House at Rotherhithe which housed the pumping station for the Thames Tunnel and other interesting buildings and sites in Bermondsey and Deptford.
