Chilterns Autumn Walk -

The attendees have kept the report a secret as it was so good but sent an enticing picture
M40 to Junction 5. (It is also possible to exit at Junction 4, but I think this is simpler.)
At Junction 5, take the first left towards Ibstone.
Go straight through Ibstone Common, heading for the village of Turville, which is about 4 miles from motorway.
Please note that there are two possible routes down to Turville. The right fork is a narrower steeper descent, on which it is difficult to pass any oncoming traffic. If you take that, you turn left at the bottom for Turville. The slightly wider ‘main’ road descends to the valley, followed by a right turn to Turville. Park in village, where you can. Please share cars where possible so as to limit impact on village.
Over the hills, which include moderate (not steep) climbs and descents, and a few stiles via Turville Heath to Pishill, with some lovely views across valleys, and back by circular route. Approximately 10 miles.. About half way along, in morning and afternoon, we pass the Barn Cafe where drinks/snacks can be bought using an honesty box. Bring change if you want to use it.
The Crown Inn Pishill RG9 6HH telephone 01491 638364.
They are changing menus and they decided not to require pre-ordering. However they do want us to arrive by 12.15.
Notes: This is the pretty village used for the vicar of Dibley series.
